The Cincinnati Woman's Club 1937-1977

  • Raised Relief Funds for Greatest Ohio River Flood – 1937
  • Funds were raised during WWII for Bundles for Britain, Finnish Relief Units –1941–1945
  • Biennial Presidents’ Projects to raise funds, solely from members, for community projects initiated – 1947
    • The first President’s Project raised money to subsidize school lunches for children from low-income families 
  • President’s Project raised funds to support for Children’s Dental Care Foundation to provide dental care to children from low-income families – 1954
  • Established Clara Gates Irving Memorial Committee to provide hand-knitted sweaters to Cincinnati school children – 1956
  • Club searches for site for new clubhouse due to construction of Northeast Expressway (I-71) – 1963
  • Groundbreaking for Lafayette Avenue clubhouse – 1965
  • Lafayette clubhouse opens – March 26,1967
  • 75th anniversary President’s project raised funds for Cincinnati Symphony and Cincinnati Association for the Blind – 1969
